Five people injured in an armed attack in Mwaro Province

Five men, namely Isaac Sindayigaya, Richard Ndayisenga, Claude Nimbona, Georges Manirabona, Bizimana Hilaire were seriously injured in an attack by people armed with machetes and big sticks in the Muyange Zone of Nyabihanga Commune of Mwaro central province of Burundi. The incident took place in the night of 21 November.

Adrien Ntunzwenimana , Administrator of Nyabihanga Commune, says criminals broke into one of the households of the locality to steal sheep contrary to what people say that they were rebels.

The administrator says the criminals were numerous but were not identified. “The police intervened later and were able to evacuate the victims to hospital.

The Nyabihanga administrator calls on the population to be vigilant and inform the administration and security forces whenever they receive information about people who intend to threaten security. Sources say one of the victims died from the wounds shortly after he was brought to hospital.
