Burundi Football Federation-FFB president Révérien Ndikuriyo gave prizes to the teams which won last year championships on Tuesday 22nd October. The event took place at FFB office. The prizes amounted to more than 40 million Burundian francs and were distributed to different winning teams.

Révérien Ndikuriyo also gave eighty thousand Burundian francs to each player of Intamba Murugamba National team as a sign of encouragement.

FFB president said the prize-giving came late due to the lack of means and the low incomes from the football enthusiasts. He then called on Burundians to massively watch matches, what will contribute to the rise in income.

Ndikuriyo thanked the Fédération Internationale de Football Association-FIFA and Brarudi Company for their everyday support. FFB president also extended his thanks to all the winners, especially Vital’o team which was the first winning team. He equally praised the teams and their organizers for their discipline since no claims were made during the 2015 championship. He encouraged them to keep that spirit even for the coming season.

Asked about his feeling with regard to the prize received,  Benjamin Bikorimana, Vital’o team president, told Iwacu they were somehow satisfied and did not want to add anything to the explanations of FFB president. He rather said they were going to do their best to collaborate with the media to attract people’s interest in watching matches and for the incomes to be increased.
