Burundi Revenue Authority awards four journalists

Parfait Gahama, Iwacu Press Group journalist, as well as three others respectively from the National Radio and Television, Le Renouveau newspaper and Aigle Sport FM based in Makamba Province received on December 5, a certificate of merit for the professional work of educating and raising public awareness on the importance of paying tax.

This prize was awarded by the Burundi Revenue Authority-OBR on the occasion of the Taxpayer’s Day and the closing of the week dedicated to the taxpayer which was organized under the theme: “Reinforce the good practice of giving and asking for the bill”

The ceremonies marking this event took place in Makamba Province in south of Burundi and were honored by the presence of President of the Republic of Burundi.

Gahama says it’s an honor for him and for Iwacu press group to have been chosen by a big institution like OBR among the best journalists that promoted fiscal responsibility in Burundi. “I’m very happy and I hope this award will encourage me to work a lot on tax compliance,” says Gahama.
