Among the 28 graduates, 23 are Burundians, 2 Ugandans, 2 Kenyans and 1 Tanzanian. “They are broad-minded officers and open to all horizons of international security,” says Cassien Ntacebera, Commander of ESCEM

Mr. Ntacebera says the graduates are endowed with enough knowledge. “They underwent qualitative, intellectual, moral and academic training.”
He also says that the National Defense Force-FDN needs them to work in larger units of commandment or military staff.

He asked them to put into practice the knowledge they acquired from the training. “If they are deployed to different units of military staff or other commandment positions, they shall put into practice what they have learnt as a working tool”.

Prime Niyongabo, Burundi Army Chief of Staff says the training was strategically set to respond to different needs such as “equipping our future military leaders with proper efficiency, knowledge and capacity in decision-making processes to deal with security challenges, do complex tasks for the defense of the country and carry out operations of any nature even outside the country”.
During the same ceremonies, the first three graduates were given prizes and the first was a Burundian.
