The two bodies fished out from the Mubarazi when searching for Jean Bigirimana, the Iwacu journalist who has disappeared since 22 July were buried in the afternoon of Tuesday,16 August in Muramvya province. Human Rights defenders whom Iwacu contacted confirmed the information.

According to the same sources, there had been attempts to bury the bodies before even the wife of the missing journalist arrived at the provincial hospital morgue on Friday to see whether one of the two bodies was her husband’s or not.

This happens when several human rights organizations have recently demanded the identification procedure of these two bodies fished out from the Mubarazi by a DNA test.
