FH Burundi is seeking to hire qualified, dedicated and experienced “Cluster Manager” to coordinate and manage FH Burundi’s programs based in Gisuru (Ruyigi Province).

The Cluster Manager will report to the Programs Manager and will be required to reside in the target Cluster area commune. Duties and responsibilities will include the following:
  • Provide program and budgetary oversight and supervision and ensure that all planned activities, outputs and impacts are achieved over the life of the cluster and ensure that cluster’ expenses are reasonable and spent in accordance with donor and FH Burundi’s rules and regulations
  • Support Cluster’s staff by providing guidelines and standards, training tools and resources on a regular basis to ensure the timely implementation of quality cluster’s project.
  • Ensure integration of sector activities education, health and nutrition, livelihoods and food security and DRR programs in the cluster’s project
  • Track cluster’s implementation status and provide timely updates regarding impending delays or program challenges to supervisor
  • Holds meetings to organize weekly program activities and to provide directions
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of the cluster’s documents and resources, and support audit processes, including the implementation of audit recommendations
  • Provide monthly Reports, quarterly, semi annual and annual reports to the program Manager and ensure the
  • Program Manager is informed of all developments in the general working situation of the cluster and related project implemented within the cluster
  • Ensure cluster’s DIP and procurement, training plans are implemented according to agreed time line
  • Develop and empower staff to work efficiently and grow in their skills.
  • Maintain and manage individual and team goals and objectives;
  • Pursue ongoing training, professional and personal development for team member and self in the forms of seminars, conferences, offsite time spent in study or other venues.
  • Facilitate the identification, assessment and design of new projects at cluster level and support the development of project proposals, monitoring and evaluation plans and budgets
  • Support the PM with representation to the government levels especially at provincial and communal levels, helping to ensure constructive working relationships are maintained to allow expansion and growth of FH’s transformation development in Burundi;
  • Ensure effective communication and team work is developed and maintain between cluster staff
  • Establishes relationships with key sectorial stakeholders
  •  Enforces good collaboration and working relationships with provincial, communal and local administration
  • Collects inputs and activity reports from field staff
  • Compile reports and write stories in the best way which describes and tells the donors about what is happening in the cluster and the progress towards stated outcomes and goal
  • Submit the reports and stories to the Program Manager in appropriate formats and in due time
  • Ensure that related photos or videos are sent with the reports and stories
  • Holds review meetings with staff to discuss the reports and improvement areas

  • Has a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Food for the Hungry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office power point, excel and Google systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to accountability to beneficiaries and transparency, showing dignity and respect, and demonstrating listening and understanding
  • Training and mentoring skills
  • Holding a driving license, A category
  • Ability to ride a motorcycle on rough rural roads
  • Can work and organize work alone in unsupervised environment
  • Displaying high team spirit and ability to manage and lead teams
  • Is able to live and work in rural communities
  • Highly organized
  • Able to multi-task

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree (B. A. or License) with three years related experience in project and budget management.
  • At least 3 years of previous experience in one or combination of health, nutrition, education, livelihoods programming sectors.
  • Experience developing proposals
  • Experience working with Government and other partners (Multi-lateral Agencies, private donors).
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from donors, government and other stakeholders.
