The objective of their visit is to assess security situation in Burundi.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_9413\" style=\"width: 463px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9413\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-9413\" src=\"http:\/\/www.iwacu-burundi.org\/englishnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/CIRGL-300x173.jpg\" alt=\"Omar Suliman Wanessee: \u201cOur delegation has come to assess the security situation in Burundi\u201d\" width=\"453\" height=\"261\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iwacu-burundi.org\/englishnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/CIRGL-300x173.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.iwacu-burundi.org\/englishnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/CIRGL-768x442.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.iwacu-burundi.org\/englishnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/CIRGL-600x345.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.iwacu-burundi.org\/englishnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/CIRGL.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 453px) 100vw, 453px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-9413\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Omar Suliman Wanessee: \u201cOur delegation has come to assess the security<br \/>situation in Burundi\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Omar SulimanWanessee, speaker of states council in the republic of Sudan and leader of the delegation, says they come to assess the security situation in order to respond to the 2016 resolution of ICGLR country members. \u201cThis three-day visit will help me and my teammates to meet the chief executive, MPs and ICGLR country members\u2019 ambassadors to discuss the security and humanitarian situation in Burundi,\u201d he says adding that they will hold a press conference to announce their findings at the end of the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Pascal Nyabenda, Speaker of the National Assembly, who welcomed the delegation at the airport, says this visit is motivated by ICGLR country members\u2019 concerns about the prevailing situation in Burundi. \u201cEvery time we have held a meeting together since 2015, ICGRL has always expressed worries about security in Burundi,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Nyabenda says these worries have given rise to the adoption of a resolution in January 2016. \u201cThe delegation has come to assess the situation so as to rule on the resolution in the next meeting that will be held in Congo Brazzaville in December 2018\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>About the question of the diplomatic relations between Rwanda and Burundi, The Speaker of the National Assembly says ICGLR has not yet expressed its stance but will deal with it soon as both countries are members of the same community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A group of delegates from different country members of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) landed in Bujumbura this Monday 09th July 2018.
