The May 30th deadline that was given to traders who were operating in four newly rehabilitated markets to go back to their places was not respected.<\/p>\n

Apollinaire Ngendanzi, Representative of traders at Jabe market encourages his fellow traders. \u201cWe lost a lot since we were obliged to quit the market for rehabilitation. I call on traders to be patient\u201d.
\nThis representative says the government has given the deadline without knowing that there would be a shortage of metals to build stalls. \u201cIt was quite impossible to meet the set deadline because there were no materials to build the stalls\u201d.<\/p>\n

He says the markets shall be occupied soon as the materials are now available. \u201cWe hope it will take one or two weeks but I cannot give the exact date as I don\u2019t represent the government,\u201d he has said.
\nTraders met on the spot say the government should try as quick as possible to make the market operational for it has taken a long time and traders are working in difficult conditions.<\/p>\n
