The victim was identified as Dieudonné Nsengiyumva.

“I woke up at 5:00am. When I went out of the gate I saw clothes near the fence. I approached and found it was a dead body. I immediately informed my boss”, says a housemaid. According to him, the body had no wounds. “I think the victim was strangled because he had no injury, he had clothes on him but no shoes”, he says.

Residents in that locality say the night was quiet as usual. Only one person says to have heard something strange at night but the noise was from a long distance.

Mrs. Imelde Ndikuriyo, Administrative Official of Ngagara zone, says the corpse was lately identified. “I reached there with the chief of the police station and we found people gathered around the corpse, some recognized him and said his name was Dieudonné Nsengiyumva, a native of Gishubi in Gitega central province, who was currently living in Kamenge zone and working in Buterere area”, she says.

This is the second dead body found in three days. Ndikuriyo says it is strange given that Ngagara is usually calm. According to her, either people are killed secretly or corpses are brought and thrown in Ngagara zone. “I have just held a meeting with the chiefs of Ngagara areas and we have decided to reinforce the collaboration between the justice, local administration, police and the population for security purpose. Whoever sees something suspicious is appealed to immediately communicate it. Many police stations will soon be setup”

The administration of Ngagara took the dead body of the victim to the mortuary at Roi Khaled Hospital.

Another dead body was found by the police in the same neighborhood on Saturday morning, the victim was seriously injured before being killed.
