Gabriel Rufyiri, OLOCUME Chairman says the Burundian government should reduce non-essential expenses in the general state budget. \u201cThe budget should be used for the payment of the medical care of COVID-19 patients and for the cost of the accommodation for the confined people\u201d, says Rufyiri.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_13112\" style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13112\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-13112\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iwacu-burundi.org\/englishnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/rufyiri.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"259\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iwacu-burundi.org\/englishnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/rufyiri.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.iwacu-burundi.org\/englishnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/rufyiri-300x173.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.iwacu-burundi.org\/englishnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/rufyiri-768x442.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.iwacu-burundi.org\/englishnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/rufyiri-600x345.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-13112\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gabriel Rufyiri: \u201cThere is a need to respect the 14-day quarantine decision as prescribed by WHO\u201d.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>He also says Burundians living in the country and abroad as well as friends of Burundi should contribute to the \u201cFund of Citizens initiated by Burundians themselves. The fund should be used to support vulnerable people so that they don\u2019t succumb to misery\u201d, he says adding that the government should also authorize international organizations to support Burundians.<\/p>\n<p>OLUCOME Chairman also exhorts the government to respect the 14-day quarantine decision as prescribed by the World Health Organization. \u201cIt is necessary to stop the bad behavior of quarantining people for less than five days\u201d, he deplores.
