At the beginning of 2018\/2019 school year, school fees in boarding school have moved from BIF 15,000 to BIF 43,000 while day students still pay BIF 7000.<\/p>\n<p>For him, decision-makers should consider the living conditions of students from impoverished families before taking any measure. \u201cIt would be better if we contribute to our schooling according to our means,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>Evariste Niyongere, a parent, appreciates the measure to contribute to the education of their students. \u201cWe are aware that Lyc\u00e9e Cibitoke doesn\u2019t have sufficient teaching staff. We agreed that each student will give an amount of BIF 1000 each month to encourage part-time teachers,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>L\u00e9onard Ndayishimiye, headmaster of Lyc\u00e9e Cibitoke says the school needs to recruit four part-time teachers. \u201cThe school is not able to pay them and they really need support,\u201d he says adding that about 250 parents who attended the meeting agreed upon that contribution.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Each student of Lyc\u00e9e Cibitoke in Cibitoke western province has to give BIF 3000 per term to pay part-time teachers.
