On 13 March, There were rumblings on social media that she was reportedly summoned to appear in the presidential office. She would have incorrectly translated ‘Imboneza yamaho’ the title attributed to the Burundian President by the central committee of the ruling CNDD-FDD as the ” eternal supreme leader”. Basutama immediately denied those rumors.

The BBC Correspondent says to have been summoned to appear in court on 21 March adding that she does not know the motives of this summon.
